PSA: TransLink is raising fare for all transit services

On July 1, TransLink will be initiating a new phase of their 10-year plan, raising fare prices anywhere from 5 cents to $2 depending on which transit services you take.

While students have their transit fare included in their tuition via Compass card, it is only covered while students are enrolled in classes (on a per term basis), so be sure to add a little extra money than usual if you’re not taking summer courses.

While this may seem like an unnecessary added expense, one of the main goals of the ten-year plan is to reduce overcrowding — and I’m pretty sure we can all spare a dime or two to avoid getting elbowed in the face every day while commuting on the 99.
